How to get real interview practice with AI feedback

Most interview prep is passive: articles, sample questions, a list of things to remember. Ranked Arena is active — you answer a real behavioural question on camera or mic, under a countdown, and get graded immediately. That is the closest thing to a real interview you can get on your own.

Direct answer

The fastest way to get real interview practice is Ranked Arena: answer a timed behavioural question on camera or mic, get AI grading on structure, specificity, and impact within moments, then repeat. Free accounts get 3 ranked matches a month; Pro and Ultra unlock 50 and 100. It's practice with pressure and feedback, not just a list of tips to read.

Four steps to build real interview reps

01

Start a ranked match

Open Ranked Arena and get a behavioural question pulled from a curated bank covering leadership, conflict, ownership, and culture fit.

02

Answer on camera or mic, under a countdown

A timer starts and you answer out loud, exactly like a real interview. A match is a few short questions and a few minutes, so it fits between other prep.

03

Get graded immediately

AI scores what you said — structure, specificity, and impact — and, with your camera on, gives feedback on your on-camera presence too.

04

Climb the rank ladder and repeat the weak spots

Interview Points from each match move you up the ladder from Unranked toward Cracked. Repeat the question types that scored lowest until the pattern changes.

Why timed practice beats reading interview tips

Tips tell you what a good answer contains. They don't tell you whether you can produce one under a countdown, in front of a camera, with an actual question you haven't seen before.

Ranked Arena closes that gap. The pressure is real enough to be useful — a ticking clock, a camera, and a graded score — so the first time you feel that pressure isn't in the actual interview room.

What each match grades

  • Structure — whether the answer has a clear shape (situation, action, result) instead of trailing off
  • Specificity — whether you named a real decision, trade-off, or number instead of staying generic
  • Impact — whether the result is clear and worth the interviewer's time
  • On-camera presence (camera matches only) — eye contact, expressiveness, and composure

Common questions

What is Ranked Arena?

Ranked Arena is Iteration's timed, AI-graded interview practice mode. You answer behavioural questions on camera or mic under a countdown, get graded instantly, and climb a live rank ladder from Unranked to Cracked.

Is Ranked Arena free?

Yes to start. Every free account gets 3 ranked Arena matches each calendar month. Iteration Pro includes 50 a month and Iteration Ultra includes 100.

Do I need a webcam?

No. Camera on gives you the full experience, including feedback on your on-camera presence, but mic-only still gets graded and ranked, just at a reduced Interview Points rate.

How is this different from practising with a friend?

A friend can be generous or inconsistent. Ranked Arena grades the same way every time, gives you a score you can track over weeks, and doesn't need anyone else's schedule. Use both if you can — Arena for reps, peer practice for real conversational pressure.

Do I need a technical or coding background to use Ranked Arena?

No. Every question is purely behavioral — about leadership, conflict, ownership, communication, and similar situations — with no coding or role-specific knowledge assumed. It works the same whether you're a CS student, an engineer, or a law student.
