I know dark mode exists on most of the site already but the actual practice recording screen still feels a bit bright compared to everything else, especially doing sessions late at night. Small ask but figured it is worth mentioning since I do most of my reps in the evening.
I am coming from a completely different field and using this to prep for interviews in a new industry entirely. It has been humbling honestly, my first few scores were rough. Curious if anyone else here is doing something similar or if most people are just refining skills in their current field.
Not a huge deal but during one of my matches yesterday the countdown timer jumped from twelve seconds straight to four. Did not affect my score as far as I could tell but wanted to flag it in case it is happening to others too. Using the site on a fairly new laptop with a stable connection so I do not think it is on my end.
Small thing, my display name is not showing up on the solo leaderboard, it just shows a generic player number instead. I have a display name set on my profile so not sure why it is not pulling through. Might just need to refresh or something but wanted to mention it.
Right now once a match ends I can see the score and written feedback but I cannot go back and actually watch or listen to how I answered. It would help a ton to compare an early attempt against a recent one and hear the difference myself instead of just reading notes about it. Not sure how hard this would be to build but figured I would throw the idea out there.
Been grinding solo matches for about three weeks now and finally broke into Gold today. Wanted to say this practice mode is honestly the reason my real interviews got so much smoother. The scoring feels harsh at first but it forces you to actually structure your answers instead of rambling. Anyone else notice their real interview nerves go down after enough reps here?
A few things that moved the needle for me after a rough start. First, record with your camera on even when it feels awkward, the no camera penalty is real and reviewers can tell when you are not looking at anything. Second, stop trying to memorize a perfect answer word for word, it makes you sound robotic when you get nervous. Third, use the feedback from each match before jumping into the next one instead of grinding blindly. I went from Wood to Platinum in about six weeks doing this.
Just finished my three placement matches and wanted to share what worked for me since I was nervous going in. Do not overthink the first one, it genuinely just calibrates where you land, it is not a make or break moment. Read the question twice before answering out loud, I rushed my first attempt and it showed. Also keep a glass of water nearby, sounds silly but talking for that long back to back is more tiring than you would expect.
